If you wonder when is the summer in Turkey, then the best answer is from mid-May until mid-October. Here are some highlights about the climate, wind, and temperature in the summer months from May to October.

The hot summer months can be felt in June, which can get sunny and hot. The average temperature is 25°C, but it can get up to 30°C, so sun protection is advised for everyone spending time outdoors. Coastal towns are getting busier but not as busy as in August, so you can still enjoy a decent amount of privacy.

This time of the year is great for yachters because weather conditions are perfect for such activity, and it is unlikely you’ll experience any rain on your holiday at this time of year. As the sun goes down, the temperature will drop to a comfortable 20°C.

Due to the high temperatures during this time, traveling with young children requires extra precautions. If you choose to bring children along, ensure they have ample shade and apply plenty of sunscreen, particularly between 11 am and 3 pm when the sun is strongest.

In the evenings, temperatures cool down to a pleasant 22°C, ideal for enjoying dinner outdoors. Additionally, the Aegean Sea warms to approximately 25°C in August, offering comfortable conditions for swimming and other water activities.

May and October: off-season 

These months are ideal for those who want to avoid big tourist crowds and are just looking for privacy. In May and October, the most amazing gulets are still available and they come at the most affordable price, so you can save some money and invest it in, for example, the best quality food on board.

July and August: high season 

All the sun worshipers will enjoy these months since there is plenty of it! This is also the time when coastal destinations are the most lively and full of fun events. The downside for some may be the fact that prices are highest in this period because this is the high season. 

June and September: mid-season 

These are the best months for cruising because they offer the perfect blend of everything. You can enjoy the sunshine and slightly cooler temperatures. You will successfully avoid all the big crowds, but you’ll get to see that they are places are slowly getting busier.
